MASH Gargano - About us

In the 90s Petr Žáček found the beauty of Gargano on his Junk Esperanza. He stayed here for business for some time. Since then, he stayed here for a couple of winters while he left Esperanza winterized in Prague. For years Petr and his wife Lucie would cultivate their land. After some time they rebuild a small fisherman’s house and build a big residential tent, todays MASH.

The Junk went through wide reconstructions in 2012, so it could go on an expedition through Europe. It sailed from Prague through Germany and to Holland. From there it continued through Belgium to France and then over the Mediterranean Sea all the way to Gargano. Petr and Lucie were joined by almost a hundred candidates who would take turns every week. After more than 20 years spent on the Junk in Prague, Petr Žáček decided to come back to Gargano and build a new project – MASH Gargano.
